Goat Island is a small island and is home to the Newport Harbor Light (1842), residences, a restaurant, event space, and hotel. In the past it was also home to several military forts. Great views of Downtown Newport and the harbor and on opposite side of the island (5 minute walk), fantastic views of the Newport Bridge.

Along the street and on many of the wharfs there are many different types of restaurants and unique shops and boutiques. This really is what you would expect Newport to look like. Don’t miss the Whitehorne House Museum is just 2 short blocks away from this stop, it displays the craftsmanship of cabinetmaking and related arts from the 1700’s Newport.
